Nigeria Police Force Reacts Over A Man With A Fake IG Facebook Account Vows To Hunt Him Down
It's obvious that many people have fallen into dubious hands when it comes to the activities on social media platforms.

The Nigeria Police has raised an alarm over an account on Facebook, identifying it as fake.

The said Facebook account bears the name of the Inspector General of Police, "Abubakar Adamu Mohammed.

In a Statement issued by the Police noted that the impostor claims that the police force in collaboration with custom service is auctioning an impounded vehicle.

In a further statement, the Police stated that the IG of Police does not operate any Facebook account, noting that the said ACP name on the post cannot be found in the Police database.

However, it also charged the members of the public to be at alert with regards to such information, as it was made to defraud their unsuspecting victims.



While frowning at such behavior, the Police assures the public of bringing the impostor to book.

"We want to assure the public that this fraudster and impostor will soon be arrested and made to face the rigor of the law.

Over the years past, since the emergence and explosion of social media, some unscrupulous elements have taken the opportunity to negatively either duping people of their hard earned money or goods and other great values worth fortunes.

Some claim to be who they are not, others go extra mile by faking there identity thereby using top politicians, celebrities, footballers, agencies, ministers, top Government officials, and scholars profiles to draw the attention of their victims.

Reports have also shown that many people social media accounts at sometime gets hacked by this individuals to perform nefarious activities against their preys.

Nigerians reacting to this issue have tasked the Police Force to initiate a thorough search on the impostor who has duped many people through this means.

Meanwhile, the Police have received Covid-19 Personal Protective Equipment by the German Deputy Ambassador on behalf of the German Government, at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) complex.

Receiving the presentation on behalf of the Police Force was DIG Anthony Michael Ogbizi, fdc who was represented by DCP Umar M. Sanda on the 7th May, 2020 at Area 10, Abuja.
