IG Commends Officers On The Arrest Of Three Suspected Kidnappers In Abuja



The Inspector General of Police has commended the efforts of the
Joint Task Force on the arrest of three (3) suspects said to be brothers on the account of kidnapping and murder of a 55 year old woman.

According to M.A Adamu, who told the media that the suspected kidnappers led a team of combined investigators and pathologist to Wumba, Lokogoma in Abuja where the victim's body was murdered and hid in a septic tank.

The recovered body of the victim was brought to the Teaching Hospital for further forensic audit while the Highlander jeep jeep belonging to the victim was taken to a mechanic and changed to several colors.

The principal suspect identified as Emmanuel Johnson has changed the ownership of the vehicle to his name after murdering the woman.


It was revealed at the cause of investigation that one of the suspects claimed ownership of the house where the victim was killed, but sold it off in order to avert being indicted.

Members of the operatives attached to Police uncovered the three suspects said to be brothers from the same womb, hails from Isiekenesi Ideato in Imo State, while their victim hails from Bende Local Government Area in Abia State.

In addition to the above information, the Police however identified the same Emmanuel Johnson as a Facebook friend of the victim, Mrs Janet Ogbonnaya, who was lured from her home to Gwagwalada at the residence of the suspects and was offered ice cream drugged with suphonated substance.

While demanding #5 million from the victim's family before her release, the case was reported to the Police who winged into action only to discover her dead.

In his remark, the IG noted the arrests as a welcome development on there part, as he went further to boast that perpetrators all over the Country should be prepared to leave or face the consequences attached.

He also enjoined members of the public to provide useful information to the Police, which will lead to the arrests of kidnappers and other law breakers in the event of any crime.

Cases of rape have been currently reported in the Country, while no arrest has been made with regards to that as promised by the Police.
