Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu Condoles With The Former IGP
Following the death of the wife of former Inspector General of Police, Alhaja Ariat Aderoju Smith whose death occurred on the 5th of June 2020.

Extending his heartfelt condolence to the family of the former IGP, Alhaji Musiliu Smith. The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu expressed his deepest condolence to the family, saying she will be missed by everyone around her which he attributes to her character.

Alhaji Musiliu Smith was the Inspector General of Police in May 1999 through March 2002 following his retirement. He lost his wife at the age of 64 years. She was survived by her husband and their two children.

This was announced through his social media platform, earlier today 6th June 2020.

According to the Governor, who announced her burial comes up today according to the law of Muslims, and also in directive issued by NCDC and the State guidelines which states that only the family members will be allowed to attain to her funeral rite.

She will be buried today in accordance with Muslim rites. Only immediate family members will be allowed at the burial rites, in strict compliance with the NCDC and the State's guidelines on #COVID19 social distancing protocol.

Meanwhile, in a recent development, the Nigerian Police Force has apprehended the culprit behind the death of the Uniben Student. The victim identified as Vera Uwaila, according to a media source was allegedly murdered while studying her books at the Church of the Redeemed Benin City.

While speaking on the incident, the Police spokesperson said that they were able to identify the weapon used in murdering the lady. After several investigation and audit ran, the weapon was found to be a fire extinguisher used in perpetrating the dastardly act.

Several reactions in the media as many are wondering where the Country is heading to, in terms of security of lives and property and have called on the Government to bring to book those perpetrating evil acts.
