PDP, Arthur Okowa Mourns The Death Of Sen Ajimobi
The death of the former Oyo State Governor, and the acting National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Sen Abiola Ajimobi.

The demise of Sen Ajimobi came as a shocking news during the day time. According to a media report, he has been on life support for past one week.

Ajimobi was said to have been placed on life support due to shock.

Describing his death as irreparable loss, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a press release by the Publicity Secretary, Kola Olongbondiya of the party, stated that the entire nation has lost a true statesman and peace keeper.

"The NWC of the PDP Officials on behalf of the NEC and the PDP family, mourns the death of former Governor of Oyo State and the immediate past National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

Our party sincerely commiserates with the Ajimobi family, particularly his widow, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, President Muhammadu Buhari, the national leadership of the All Progressive Congress, the government and people of Oyo state.

The party prayed God to grant the nation the fortitude to bear the loss and eternal repose to the faithful departed" he stated.

However, Gov Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has sympathized with the family of the deceased and prays God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.

"I just received the sad news of the passing of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the immediate past Governor of Oyo State. At this difficult time, my prayers are with Florence, his wife; his entire family; and the people of Oyo State" the Governor stated.

It was also rumoured that he was diagnosed of Covid 19, making it the second prominent Nigeria to have died of the virus after Abba Kyari, former Chief of Staff to the President.

He died at the Lagos State general hospital, at the age of 70, according to report.

Ajimobi was recently declared the acting National Chairman of the APC by the National Working Committee, an appointment which the Court nullified.

In a recent development, the National working committee of the All Progressive Congress held their meeting today at the State house Abuja.

The meeting which has in attendance the President, Vice President, Governors of the party, and other top party officials.

The party ended up dissolving the former NWC and instituted a fresh one which has Mai Buni as caretaker committee of the party.
