Airlines Rolls Out Protocols As They Resume Operations
In a bid to curtail and put under control the Covid 19 pandemic, stringent measures has been rolled out for travelers locally.

This was revealed by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, on Tuesday prior to their resumption of flight operations on Wednesday 8, July 2020.

The novel virus commenced it's campaign saga early January, with minimal deaths recorded. Different activities where all stalled including flight movement, locally and internationally.

So far millions of lives has been claimed, with it's cure yet to be discovered by the scientists.

According to FAAN, protocols are to be duly observed by passengers in order to decelerate and limit it's activities.
It also focused on fostering and ensuring safety among air travelers to stall further break out.

In a statement on media, "Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, Murtala Muhammed Domestic Terminal Lagos is ready to resume flight operations on Wednesday" FAAN said.

Rolled out Measures includes;

1. Arrival of passengers to the airport at least 3 hours before flight schedule, as against formal time schedule.

2. Mandatory Face masks usage throughout the period of stay in the airport prior to departure.

3. Proper disinfection of footwear's, luggage, in addition to hand washing before entrance to the terminal building.

4. Non passengers restricted, as only travelers will be allowed entry to the terminal building.

5. Travelling with pets require paramount clearance from the office of Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services.

6. Distance of not less than 6 ft should be critically observed among passengers in the terminal.

7. No Escort will follow a Principal Officer to the terminal.

8. Instant and mandatory disinfection of Co buses on arrival at the airport.

9. Temperature observant by the medical teams available.

Meanwhile, the Honourable Minister of Aviation, Hadiri Sirika announced the resumption of other domestic airlines come 11th, of July, 2020. The airlines include that of Owerri, Port Harcourt, Maidugiri and Kano.

He further announced 15th as the resumption date of remaining local flights, while international flights will be later as he pleaded with all and sundry to bear with them.

Nigeria has recorded more than 30,000 confirmed cases of the virus, at least 7000 deaths and more than 1000 discharged.

The agency responsible for disease control, and also charged with the Covid 19 and other disease related cases, NCDC, continues to work with various state authorities, especially on the establishment and setting up of Major laboratory networks.

It also enjoined air travelers to strictly adhere to airline measures so as to minimize high risk and possible breakout.
