Gas plant exploded along Nekede Ihiagwa Road
Black Wednesday evening as gas plant exploded leaving scores injured.

According to a report from a reliable source, the explosion occurred about 8:30pm, 1st July 2020, in the evening.

The gas plant is situated opposite Police post, along Nekede Ihiagwa road Owerri.

The report has it that the deadly explosion claimed the lives of innocent children, as well as those of mature ladies who saw screaming and scrambling for help.

It was also gathered that the gas incident affected houses, shops around the premises.

Nigeria Police Force is currently condoning off the environment, while casualties are yet to be ascertained.

More details on this will be updated as we gather the right information on the number of casualties and what actually triggered the deadly explosion.

In another development, tragic death was witnessed at Amaraku bus stop, along Owerri - Okigwe road, as a bus driver slumped dead in his vehicle.

Bus driver death linked to Corona virus
He was said to have witnessed his death while waiting for his turn at the pit. Rumour has it that his breath got sized, all efforts to revive him proved abortive.

His death has been correlated to COVID 19, according to the report, his breath was sizing which is one of the symptoms of the virus. While some attributed it to a heart attack or spiritual occurrence.

The bus driver who should be in his late 40 left his family in the early hours of Wednesday for work, only to kick the bucket that fateful day.
