Exhibit Transparency in Magu's Case- PDP charges President Buhari
The strong opposition party in Nigeria has tasked the President, Gen Mohammadu Buhari, not to compromise in the case of the acting EFCC Chairman, Lawal Magu.

Recall that Magu was yesterday alleged to have been arrested by the Department of State Services while heading for a force meeting in Abuja following his alleged corruption case.

A claim the Commission refuted and termed as false through it's head, media and publicity, Dele Oyewale, when it announced yesterday that the acting Chairman was neither arrested nor detained, but only honoured an invitation at the Presidential Villa by the panel.

According to the Party, the President should show it's authenticity and full commitment in the fight against corruption, while arguing that he strides for the moment pending when the ongoing investigation is over.

However, the Peoples Democratic Party, in their statement noted that Magu's invitation by the attorney general of the Federation, depicts an unusual procedure.

Adding that the Commissions efforts to shield or relegate to the background the Acting Boss investigation, only depicts a shady deal between the EFCC and the Presidency.

In further statement, the party also revealed how assets recovered by the agency was sold off and money diverted to an unknown account by the acting Chairman, which later resulted to his indictment by the attorney general of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

"Our Party, Nigerians and indeed, the international community are keenly monitoring the development and expect the President to muster courage to carry out a comprehensive investigation and make its findings available to the public.

"Now that Magu has been pulled in for investigation, the Federal Government should preserve the integrity of the office of the Chairman of the Commission by ordering him to step aside while investigations take charge of every activities of the office to forestall destruction of evidence as well as unnecessary interference's in the matter" said PDP.
