FCMB Makes Official Statement
The Federal City Monument Bank has alerted the public on an alleged fraud statement attributed to the managing director. The Managing director had been indicted following a Presidential briefing in
Abuja last weekend on an illegal transfer of #573m into a church account.
According to the released statement from the bank's official Instagram handle, no such transaction ever existed either intentionally or unintentionally. The bank stated that rather than the purported unfounded rumor stated above, what they had was an error during one of their systems maintenance periods which affected a single account due to the collection of different files.

Further clarification hinted that the said transfer saga remained unnoticed for quite a number of days and yielded no positive performance on the supposed customer's account. However, they claimed that the MD provided full details on the reigning issues to the inquiry body.

Describing the situation as unfortunate, the bank has resolved to an open investigation in addition to full cooperation with the investigative body.

Meanwhile, the Guaranteed Trust Bank on 17th August 2020, released some guidelines to be duly followed to outsmart scammers and fraudsters who take advantage of the COVID 19 period to swindle customers of their hard-earned cash.

The guidelines according to the bank, are to mitigate the complaints which arrive daily at the customer's care desk with regards to account scamming.

Some of the directives include:

None disclosure of card details such as card pin, card number, and CVV which is a three-digit number found behind the ATM card.
