Tragedy: As A Police Officer Accidentally Shot A Tanker Driver
A tanker driver was yesterday shot by a Police Officer name withheld and was left in the pool of his blood.

The Police Officer was said to have been infuriated by the tanker driver when asked to pay the sum of #3000 before he will be granted access to cross.

It was gathered that the incident took place at the early hours of 5: o'clock AM in the morning, yesterday been Saturday 16th May 2020 at the Police Checking point, opposite Afor Ezuru Market, along Obiohuru road that connects Isiala Mbano, Okigwe, and Owerri.

According to the story, the shot tanker driver laid unconscious for hours at the Police Custody before been transferred to the hospital.

The ugly incident was said to have attracted the attention and the presence of the tanker drivers association with over 200 vehicles parked on the road.

Then followed suit was heavy traffic as a result of blockage of all routes by the tanker drivers when alerted immediately about the event.

However, the Police as at the time of this report, could not be reached due to the presence of other Mobile Police Officers who was shielding him in order not to be bounced upon by the angry tanker drivers.

Recall that a similar incident occurred a few weeks back at Diamond Bank Plc Amakohia Orlu Road Imo State when a Police Officer accidentally shot a commercial motorcyclist to death.

It was learned that the Okada man as it's popularly known challenged the Policeman who warned him and his colleagues to keep off as it was a bank premise and needs not to constitute a nuisance with their burial ceremony.

Eaglesourcenews also gathered that many passengers who boarded public transport and those on private vehicles walked miles to avert the traffic lock down as there were no alternative routes to continue with there journey.

Market activities were stalled too due to the incident as vehicular movement was a story for the gods.

The Imo Police command when contacted said no report of such has reached the office and promised to respond via a chat.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force has warned the members of the public not to attack their men at the cause of discharging their duties.

Expressing their concerns about reports gotten on several occasions where their men are been harassed while carrying out their duties.

Also stressing that defaulters will be dealt with according to the law.

In a similar development, report reaching us this evening says about two Police men killed in Orlu LGA of Imo State while one sustained heavy injury.

According to a close source who revealed that the ugly trend occurred at a road block mounted by the men of the Nigerian Police along Orlu expressway. The problem ensued as the Police requested the nose masks of some group of young men who confronted them in return.

He also stated that the said young lads resisted arrest from the officers, who forcefully commanded them to buy a nose mask from them at a certain undisclosed amount. A fight started between both parties as they where said to be disarmed and two battered while one left half dead.

Several reports have been received regarding the rate at which some Police Personnel are bulging on people n relation to nose mask, especially at Okwele near St Joseph's Hospital. The Citizens therefore urge the IGP and the State's commissioner of Police to call their men to order.
