Imo State Resumes Academic Activities On Monday

Imo State Resume School
The Imo State Government has reconsidered its earlier decision on school resumption for the 2020/2021 academic sessions dated 05/10/2020. As earlier announced, the state government stated that it is not interested in any academic function unless it is fully satisfied with the safety of the students by ensuring that all necessary measures are put on ground as required by the NCDC.

This generated a lot of mixed reactions and queries as to why the government has failed to follow the footstep of other states on school resumption. States like Rivers, Lagos, Anambra, Abia, and some
others have resumed academics about a month ago, as they claim to be cleared of the Corona Virus by the agency in charge of disease control.

As announced on Thursday last week by the state government, the academic session is only meant to last for a month being a promotional exam, after which other sessions will commence. They also appealed to parents and guardians as well as the Teachers to cooperate in order to beat the academic calendar.

All school activities came to halt in March following the damage brought by the Coronavirus novel which has claimed several lives around the globe. Meanwhile, the Governor has urged the Medical Personnel warming up on strike to suspend their action as their action could either be politically sponsored or a way to blackmail the government.

The Doctors are planning to embark on a strike over the non-payment of Salaries and other incentives by the state government as they claimed.
