Attack On Borno State Farmers Insane - President Buhari

President Buhari Condemns attack
The Commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari has condemned the brutal killings of the farmers in Borno State by the members of the Islamic State Terrorists, describing it as insane. Expressing his shock over the incessant attack on farmers during rice harvesting in Zabarmari Jere local of the state through his media aide, Garba Shehu, says the killings are senseless and uncalled for.

According to media sources who revealed that about 40 armless farmers were butchered by the members of Boko Haram. Speaking on the incident, the senior special assistant to the Mr President also described the case as hurting, extending his condolence to the bereaved family.

"I condemn the killing of our hardworking farmers by terrorists in Borno State. The entire country is hurt by these senseless killings. My thoughts are with their families in this time of grief. May their souls Rest In Peace."

He further revealed that the present administration is doing its best in extending full support to the military in the purchase of military arms which will enable them protect the country's territory from attack.

Several reactions have been generated across the country as well meaning Nigerians lend their voices against the unlawful attack. Recently, the Amnesty International after conducting its research says at least 43 farmers of whom 16 were Internally Displaced Persons were kept lifeless by the group including women.

While displaying the photos of the dead bodies of the farmers, they group confirmed that the targeted attacks by the BH are meant only on civilians in the region. They therefore, beckoned on the government to improve on the protection of lives and property of the citizens, urges the sect members to seize such actions against humanity and the farmers.

Worried about the increasing maiming, destruction, disruption of economic activities by the herdsmen in the Northeast and across the region, most Nigerians are of the opinion that full ammunition should be fully launched in the area to tame the situation especially the deployment of the operation Python Dance by the military in the South East.

More attacks on the farmers means shortage of foods which will definitely lead to food scarcity and austerity if no measures are put on ground to halt the precarious issue.
