#OyigboMassacre: Army Still On Rampage, Killing Scores

The Nigerian Army is reportedly carrying out an assault on civilians in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State. Scores are said to have been killed mainly young men between the ages of 15 - 50 years. Most of the areas in the region are currently been deserted with people seeking refuge in the nearby town. We also gathered that the soldiers are moving into different houses in search of young as a retaliation for the five of their men allegedly killed by the members of the IPOB.

Sources close to one of our correspondents confirmed the attacks, says he and his family members are seeking refuge in one of their relative's house as nowhere is said to be safe any longer for the residents. Places like Izuoma, Koikoi, Palace Road, Mbano Quarters, West, and several others are all said to be on the run.

Further report says that at least 200 deaths have been recorded so far. The extra-judicial killing by the military was said to have started about six days ago. Following the razing down of the Police Station and the killing of the DPO in charge of the area command, five Soldiers during the #ENDSARS protest which was later hijacked by hoodlums.

Several reactions trailing on the media with regards to the siege as some well-meaning Nigerians have called on the Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike, and the Federal Government to issue orders to the Soldiers to ceasefire, citing the act of the US military in the rescue of their citizen in the Northern part of the country on Saturday.

In a bid to ensure security of lives and property in the country, DHQs Abuja have redeployed soldiers across the country in order to restore normalcy and peace. Nigeria is currently facing unrest as the Youths agitate and demand for Police reform and good governance. Things took a new shape when scores were killed at the Lekki Toll by the Nigerian Soldiers.
